Privacy PolicyLogging In and PasswordsUntil a user registers on TopRankd, they are anonymous to us. In lieu of a username, TopRankd identifies these users by their IP addresses. Once a user registers and logs in, the user is identified by their username. For those wishing to remain anonymous, users are encouraged to create usernames that do not correspond to their actual name.Passwords are extremely important to maintain the integrity of user accounts. Users are strongly encouraged to select complex passwords, containing a combination of letters and numbers, and keep them private. EligibilityTopRankd is intended for use by people of all ages. Everyone is encouraged to view our rankings. Everyone is encouraged to contribute to our rankings. Users over the age of 13 are eligible to register and create a personal profile. Anyone between the ages of 13 and 18 is encouraged to obtain parental consent before providing personal information while registering. If TopRankd determines that a user is under the age of 13, that user information will be immediately removed from the site and discarded.Collection of InformationFor any user that views the site, TopRankd collects the user's browser type and IP address.When users register on the TopRankd site, they provide personal information such as their name, age, gender, and location. By submitting this personal information to create a user profile, the user acknowledges that this information will be published for other users to view. Additional contact information may be required, this information includes, but may not be limited to email addresses. Sharing and Disclosure of InformationTopRankd does not sell, lend, trade, or share personal information with third parties without the user's permission except in the following situations:1. To protect TopRankd's rights 2. To protect the rights of our users 3. To enforce our Terms of Use Agreement 4. To comply with legal proceedings The personal information that a user providers during registration is intended to be published in their public user profile for viewing by and networking with other users. Any information that is not displayed publicly in the user's profile will only be accessed by TopRankd. Anyone working on behalf of the company that may come in contact with this information is required to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement. In the event that TopRankd has a change in ownership, all registered users will be contacted before their information can become subject to a new privacy policy. Information pertaining to website usage may be provided to third parties at an aggregate level only. No personal level usage information will be shared with third parties. EmailingUsers are required to provide a valid email address for registration. When registering, the user has the option to receive informational emails from TopRankd. The user can choose not to receive these emails. At any point, the user can change this preference by accessing their user preferences.User profiles are intended to facilitate interaction amongst users. When including an email address in their profile, the user may agree to allow other users to email them. TopRankd will not release the user's email address. If the user chooses to reply to the message, they may provide their actual email address. Users have the ability to email TopRankd rankings and profiles to other people. In these cases the sender is prompted to provide a return email address that is visible to the recipient. Third Party EmailsUnless a user specifies their consent, third parties will not contact them via email. Users may have the ability to add themselves to contact lists for registered businesses. At the time they provide consent, users agree to be contacted by TopRankd on behalf of that business or by that business directly.InvitationsUsers can email an invitation to their friends encouraging them to register with TopRankd. The sender's name is used for the invitation and is therefore visible to the recipient. The recipient's email address is not stored within our database.LinksTopRankd provides many links that users can follow to find additional information or make purchases on other websites. Once a user chooses to follow one of these links to another site, our Privacy Policy no longer pertains. It only covers information gathered from users while on the TopRankd site. We encourage our users to read the Privacy Policy of any site they choose to visit.CookiesTopRankd sets a cookie on users' computers when they enter our site. Users can choose to reject this cookie and are able to view content throughout the site. In order to log in and utilize all the site's capabilities, the cookie needs to be active. The cookie is used to save user preferences and record session information.Changes to this Privacy PolicyWe reserve the right to make changes to this Privacy Policy.
